How to begin?

When starting on a new journey, most people will want to make sure they’re at least nominally organised. Whether it’s simply making sure you’ve got your keys and your wallet, or following a well-rehearsed sequence of steps, there’s always some kind of framework to adhere to.

As such, here lies the general structure of this website. I, Pippa (hello!) aim to upload reviews at least twice a month. These may be new titles or older pieces; they may be novels or works of non-fiction. These posts will most likely contain links for interested parties to buy or pre-order. Whatever the case, each post will be appropriately tagged and categorised.

But why should you read my reviews?

Well, I’ve been a keen reader since a very young age, penning my own ‘story’ at 4 years old (a riveting tale about a lost shoe) and ultimately majoring in humanities with literature at the Open University, from which I graduated with First Class honours in 2012. I am an avid reader, but I am also the mother of four small children (the oldest of whom just turned 6), and I am well aware of the constraints of our busy daily lives. There simply isn’t time to be faffing around reading books that aren’t worth it!

Personally, I greatly value receiving recommendations from trustworthy sources: people who know what ‘a good book’ is, and whose critical opinions I know will lead me in the right direction. I aim to provide the same such guidance to my audience. As I do not limit myself to any one sole genre, I am confident that you will find something in here that will match your interests, and look forward to being able to share with you some quality literary art.
